BOH4M is the Grade 12 University/College business course in management fundamentals. Students study leadership theory, management functions (planning, organizing, leading, controlling), human resources, motivation, and ethics — how organizations are actually run and led.
No. BOH4M has no prerequisite, making it one of the most popular Grade 12 business credits — accessible to any student and a strong M-level addition to a university-bound top six.
Yes. As an M-level (University/College) course, BOH4M counts toward the top six Grade 12 U/M marks used for Ontario university admission. It’s frequently chosen as an average-booster that’s also genuinely useful for business-bound students.
BOH4M meets the Ministry of Education’s attendance and participation expectations through activities blended directly into the course. OES requires students to log in at least once per week for attendance, and participation activities appear throughout the course and are reflected in the grade book — preserving self-paced flexibility while satisfying the requirements for online courses.
In BOH4M you learn management functions, leadership and motivation theories, organizational structure and culture, human-resources practices (hiring, training, performance), team dynamics, and business ethics and social responsibility — applied through real-company case studies.
Yes. BOH4M previews first-year organizational behaviour and management content, demonstrates business interest on applications, and builds the case-analysis skills business programs use heavily. It pairs well with BBB4M, CIA4U, and BAT4M in a business-focused Grade 12 timetable.
Yes. Many students take BOH4M at OES to raise a mark for university or college applications — Ontario uses your highest grade for the course. The course is self-paced and open year-round, so you can retake it alongside your day-school timetable and finish in as little as 4 weeks.
Yes. Ontario students who started Grade 9 in the 2020–21 school year or later must earn at least two online learning credits to graduate, and BOH4M at OES — a Ministry-inspected online school (BSID #667186) — counts toward that requirement. An opt-out process exists through school boards, and specific provisions apply to students affected by the 2021 school closures.
Yes. BOH4M belongs to the business studies group, one of Ontario’s STEM-related course groups — business studies, computer studies, cooperative education, mathematics, science, and technological education. Students entering Grade 9 in 2024 or later must complete one credit from this group among their compulsory credits, and earning BOH4M at OES satisfies that graduation requirement.
Ontario’s Growing Success policy pre-determines the evaluation structure for every credit. Beginning in the 2026–27 school year, BOH4M is graded on classroom work completed throughout the course (65%) plus a Ministry-mandated final evaluation worth 25% for Grades 11–12, with attendance and participation also reflected in the final grade. A credit is granted at 50% or higher — and as an inspected private school, OES may administer final evaluations online, while school-board online courses generally require in-person exam sittings.

I had a great experience using OES for a prerequisite course I needed to attend nursing school. I found it super easy to learn and use the LMS. I highly recommend and if I need U level courses in the future I will definitely get them through OES.
I can pick and choose when I want to work.
Hakan Leonard
Great course, I’ve learned lots and got my necessary credits for college now. I love how I can pick and choose when I want to work and decide when my deadlines are since that’s the most stressful part of traditional schooling for me.
