Yes. Quebec students can earn the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) 100% online with Ontario eSecondary School (OES), a Ministry-inspected private online high school (BSID #667186). All Grade 9–12 courses follow the Ontario curriculum and are taught by Ontario Certified Teachers, so you can study full-time or part-time from anywhere in Quebec without relocating.

Yes. The OSSD is a CEGEP alternative for Quebec students. Instead of completing two years of CEGEP after Secondary 5, you can earn an OSSD online and apply directly to universities in Quebec, across Canada, and internationally — the same pathway used by students in every other Canadian province, where high school graduates enter university without CEGEP.

Completing Secondary 5 (Secondaire V) in Quebec is generally assessed as equivalent to Ontario Grade 11 standing. That means most Quebec graduates need approximately one year of Grade 12 credits to complete the OSSD. OES evaluates each student’s transcript individually and grants equivalency credits, so you only complete the Ontario courses you’re actually missing.

Most Quebec students who have completed Secondary 5 can finish their OSSD in about one year through the OES Pre-University (one-year Grade 12) program. Courses are self-paced with start-anytime enrollment, so motivated students can move faster. Students combining the OSSD with Secondary 4 or 5 studies, or homeschooling, set their own timeline.

Yes. Quebec universities including McGill and Concordia assess OSSD graduates as applicants from another Canadian province, based on Grade 12 U-level courses and marks — no CEGEP DEC required. OES students have been accepted by McGill, Concordia, the University of Toronto, Waterloo, and other universities across Canada and internationally. Always confirm program-specific prerequisites on the university’s admissions page.

Yes. OES is inspected by the Ontario Ministry of Education (BSID #667186) and has been granting OSSD credits since 2017. Every course is aligned with Ontario curriculum policy, taught by Ontario Certified Teachers (OCT), and appears on an official Ontario Student Transcript — the same transcript universities receive from any Ontario high school.

No. OES courses are 100% online, self-paced, and available 24/7, with no scheduled class times and no requirement to travel to Ontario. Quebec students log in from home, work through interactive lessons at their own pace, and submit assessments online, with support from their teacher and 24/7 on-demand tutoring whenever they need help.

Assessments are completed online throughout each course. Under Ontario’s updated 2026–27 assessment rules, final courses include a mandatory written final exam, which Quebec students write through OES’s fully online proctoring — supervised remotely by our proctoring team, with no need to find a local proctor or travel to Ontario. You’ll book your exam time, complete a quick system check, and write from home. Your final grade combines coursework and the final evaluation in accordance with Ministry requirements.

Yes. The OES Virtual Home Schooling program lets Quebec homeschooling families earn official Ontario credits toward the OSSD while keeping the flexibility of home education. Students receive a structured Ontario curriculum, Ontario Certified Teachers, report cards, and an official transcript — providing recognized documentation of learning for university and college applications.

OSSD graduates apply to Ontario universities through the OUAC 101 or 105 application, to Ontario colleges through OCAS, and to Quebec universities as out-of-province Canadian applicants. Admission decisions are based on your six best Grade 12 U/M courses, including program prerequisites. The OES guidance team helps you select the right courses and supports your applications at no extra cost.
